Nancy Lane’s illustrations appear in the newly released picture book “KoKoCat, Inside and Out”, written by Lynda Graham-Barber and published by The Gryphon Press.  Kirkus Reviews wrote, “Lane’s beautiful, bright watercolors depict an amazing array of emotions on the face of the realistic protagonist.”

Nancy Lane, new Signature member,  was juried in to the first Finger Lakes Plein Air Competition & Festival, which took place which took place in Canandaigua June 8th and 9th.  3 of her paintings were juried into the final exhibit on Sunday and one sold. The festival was a big success for everyone.  Barbara Jablonski was a co-chair for this inaugural event. Phil Bliss won a ribbon.

Suzi Zefting-Kuhn won Best in Show in the 2012 Women of the Finger Lakes Exhibition at the First Congregational Church on N. Main Street. The painting receiving the award (and a sale!) was titled Pondering. There were 45 women artists juried into this exhibition that ran from June 1st-June 3rd.

Patricia Tribastone, PSA, will be part of an invitation exhibition June 29th-July 29th at the Nazareth College Arts Center. Gallery Hours:Wednesday through Sunday noon – 5pm

M. Wendy Gwirtzman was recognized by RPO Conductor Arrild Remmereit for her work curating the first RPO Invitational Art Exhibition in conjunction with the RPO’s finale concerts, Pitctures at an Exhibition, the weekend of May 31st. Numerous Rochester Art Club members were on the organizing committee ( Suzi Zefting-Kuhn, Christine Waara, Kathie Belly, Elizabeth King Durand, M. Wendy Gwirtzman, Richard Harvey)and 40 local artists agreed to exhibit.

Roland E. Stevens, III AIA, NWS has been juried into the 2012 Mt. Maryland Plein Air in Cumberland MD. He is also exhibiting in an invitational exhibition at Oxford Gallery. Roland was juried into the Watercolor USA 2012 Springfield Art Museum exhibit and was awarded the Patron Purchase Award. Other recent acceptances have been in the Adirondacks National Exhibition of Watercolors in Old Forge, NY, The Rochester Art Club Spring Exhibition for Signature members at St John Fisher College and the American Society of Marine Artists’ War of 1812 Commemoration.

Lennie Muscarella has his ‘The Sculptor ‘ juried into the League of Long Island’s show. Burton Silverman was the juror. The show runs May 20th-June 17th at the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery Dix Hill, Long Island.  Lennie also was juried into the Oil Painters of America Grand National Show with Daniel Greene as juror. The show runs from June 22nd-July 21st at the Evergreen Fine Arts Gallery in Evergreen Colorado. Congrats big time Lennie!

Brenda Cretney has been juried into the 2012 Women Artists of the Finger Lakes Exhibition in Canandaigua as well as the Watercolor Art Society of Houston  35th Exhibition and the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society’s Spring Show. She also had a painting selected for Splash 14 Light Color.

Suzi Zefting-Kuhn, JoEll Cunningham,Nancy Lane and Patricia Tribastone, PSA were juried into the 2012 Women Artists of the Finger Lakes Exhibition at the First Congregational  Church, 56 North Main Street  in Canandaigua. The show opens May 31st and runs through June 3rd.

Patricia Tribastone, PSA won an Outstanding Pastel Award in the online Boldbrush Painting Competition for March, 2012 for her pastel titled ‘Captives’.

Jean Stephens will be exhibiting five oil paintings from her Coastal series at the Chocolate Church Art Gallery in Bath, ME. The exhibit runs Friday, April 26th-Saturday, June 5th. There is an exhibition of early Rochester Art Club members in the Forman Gallery of the Memorial Art Gallery beginning April 25th in honor of the MAG’s preparations for their upcoming centennial in 2013. On exhibit will be 8-10 paintings by RAC members pre-1900.

Richard Harvey will have two mixed media terra cotta works in the First Annual ‘Glass, Clay and Beyond ‘ Show at the Black Radish Art Gallery in Village Gate. The opening will be Friday, May 4th 6-10pm and runs through May 26th. Richard also has a solo show at The Red House Art Center, Syracuse NY from Thursday, May 17th 5-8PM  through June 23rd. On display will be works in encaustic painting, mono prints, mixed media and metal sculpture with ceramic faces and masks.

New Associate Affiliate member , Christine Norris, will be exhibiting her work in the Main Street Artists’ Gallery & Studio, 1115 E. Main St, Rochester NY Studio 458 as their Featured Artist for May. Opening event Friday, May 4th 5-9PM. Live music 6:30-8:30 will be by Mike and Mel of Violet Mary.

RAC members exhibiting in the Rochester Art Club Studio at 1115 E. Main Street, Rochester NY , Studio 437-439 will be Andrea Dionese, Rosemary Pergolizzi, Sandy Grana Taylor and Patricia Tribastone. The theme will be florals.  Opening Friday, May 4th 5-9PM.
