First Friday Event! August 5th 5-9PM Office Manager Lisa Zaccour is looking for members to exhibit for the month of August. She would like our newest members (fall and spring Jury results) to exhibit. Contact her at 507-7154 no later than July 8th. Expect a phone call soon!

RAC Fall Show at Barnes & Noble, October 31st-December 4th. Receiving, hanging and judging will take place on October 31st. Show will open November 1st. We need a show chair or Co-chairs ASAP! If you are willing to help out contact Suzi at 233-5645 or Lennie Muscarella at 924-2824. The show Prospectus will be included in the September/October newsletter.

The RAC Studio will be closed for the September First Friday due to Labor Day.

October 7th First Friday: The RAC Pastel Painters will exhibit this month.

November 4th First Friday: Let’s try a small works show. Small works accepted no larger than 60″ perimeter, framed . Three paintings per member but if space gets tight understand that we will hang at least one per member. Holiday shopping time! Think green!$$$$ Let Lisa know by October 15th if you wish to participate. No jurying, just a chance to exhibit.

December 2nd First Friday: Lennie Muscarella has agreed to exhibit his work. We need several more members to exhibit with him. Call Lisa by November 1st if you want to exhibit. Remember that most First Fridays the studio at the Hungerford enjoys at least 250-300 visitors!

Model sessions: we now have a model in the studio twice a month each month. Nude one month and clothed the following. Watch for emails regarding dates. Participants share the model fee. Minimum is 4 artists.

Rochester Art Club Studio Invitation to Exhibit The Rochester Art Club now has the Studio space #437-439 at the Hungerford Building, 1115 East Main Street fully functioning. We participate in the City Wide First Friday Events, and we welcome our members to exhibit in the space. Each month 4 artists may exhibit their work, with the opening on the First Friday of each month. The artists who are exhibiting get exposure for their work, possible sales and commissions. You are welcome to bring prints of your work to sell, note cards, and other items related to your artwork. The club does not charge a commission for any sales. The artists are responsible for bringing refreshments for the opening and being there for questions/potential sales and referrals during that First Friday event. November exhibiting artists will be Joy Argento, Joan Dwyer, Peggy Martinez and Christine Waara. In December we will have Kevin Feary, Dick Kane and Sari Gaby exhibiting. We are now proud members of RoCo’s First Friday website, www.firstfridaysrochester.org We currently have openings for 2011. The studio is closed for the January First Friday. If you are interested, please call our office manager, Lisa Zaccour at 585-507-7154 and leave a message. She will return phone calls on Tuesdays unless it is urgent.

Have you been to the studio yet? It’s beautiful!! You are welcome to use it anytime! For your convenience it is equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, air conditioners, sinks, easels, coffee maker, table and chairs.

Gwen Causeland and Hannelore Wolcott-Bailey will be participating in the 12th Art Barn Show with the Keuka Lake Group of Six. A portion of the artists’ sales will be donated to the Yates County Arts Center to benefit the new gallery space, soon to open on Main Street, Penn Yan. Show is Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd from 10AM-4PM. Location is 2 miles south of Penn Yan on Rt. 54. Turn into Blue Spruce Lane to the barn. Rain or shine with refreshments.

Patricia Tribastone, PSA, IAPS MC received the prestigious Master Circle Award at the IAPS Convention in Albuquerque, NM in early June. IAPS is The International Association of Pastel Societies and holds their conference biannually.

Carol Bensley won a Merit Award in the Penfield Art Association Spring Show. Erika Hutch won the Outstanding Portrait Award in the same show. Erika Hutch, Judith Springer, Suzi Zefting-Kuhn, Bob Keim each won a Juror’s Award.

Jerry Alonzo is exhibiting in Geometry Human, May 31st-August 13th at the Livingston Arts Center, 4 Murray Hill Dr., Mt. Morris, NY 14510. Gallery hours: Mon-Fri 1-5PM (open til 8 PM Thursdays); Sat 11AM-3PM; Sun noon-5PM. Free. www.livingstonartscenter.org 585-243-6785.

Peggy Martinez will have a spec for exhibition at the Bellus Lux Lucius Fine Art Gallery and will have a solo show in the early fall. She has been accepted in the We don’t have enough of nature online exhibit at the Still Point Art Gallery and received the Artist of Distinction honor to exhibit online for year starting in August.

Dr. Hwang Nam Chang won First Place in the Niagra Frontier Watercolor Society Exhibition at the University of Buffalo Anderson Art Gallery. Teresa Barlis won the Zoomfinder Award. Roland Stevens won the Canson Inc. Merchandise Award.

Mary Lou Swicklik won a Merit Award at the Irondequoit Art Club’s 53rd Spring Show on April 28th.

Roland Stevens has a solo exhibit at the Wayne County Council for the Arts, 108 W. Miller St., Newark, NY 14513 July 7th through July 30th. Opening reception is Friday, July 8th 5-7PM.

Harry Bliss has been accepted in the Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors for the 14th time, making him the oldest (88) artist to be accepted in that exhibit. He along with Cris Baker will be featured in a 2-person exhibit at Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, Auburn, NY. Harry will be showing 30 works many of which have been award winning in national and regional shows. The exhibit runs from September 2nd-October 23rd.
