New Exhibition of Rochester Art Club Signature Members


The Rochester Art Club 2022 Signature Members Spring Art Exhibition opened on Saturday, May 7, with an awards ceremony and reception from 2 to 4 pm. The show runs through June 2 at Wayne County Council for the Arts (Wayne Arts), 108 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513. 43 signature members are participating in the show. Artists submitted 96 entries, of which  73  entries were accepted.


The annual exhibition is a juried show open only to Rochester Art Club signature members. Renowned artist and Newark native Wayne Williams performed jurying and judging duties. Most of the work in the exhibit is available for purchase.

Special thanks to our Hanging Committee (Elaine Verstraete, Victoria Brzustowicz, Chris Norris, and Kirt Lapham), our Intake Volunteers (Jay Costanza and Jeff Tokarz ), and all the artists who participated in this exihibit.

The Rochester Art Club holds exhibits for members at least twice a year. And there are other opportunities as well.

Our goals are to make a more engaging site to help you become the artist you want to be. To connect with other Artists within the club. And take advantage of the exhibit and learning opportunities that our members and club can provide.

Anna Rose Bain, OPA, PSS Workshop! 

Painting Children in Oil (Pastelists welcome)

October 28-30, 2022

 This three-day workshop will be all about how to paint the younger model. As a mother of two and a seasoned commissioned portrait artist, Anna has learned how to capture the spirit of youth that is often so difficult to master in portrait painting. She will discuss how to draw a child so they look their age, how to mix skin tones and paint hair, and she will also share some strategies for painting children from life. Each morning Anna will demonstrate from photo references by painting children of different ages (a baby, a toddler, and an older child). Students will work from their own photos in the afternoon under Anna’s instruction, and have the option of doing three separate paintings (one for each day), or working on the same one for the duration of the workshop.
